My dear friend Sonia sent me this after we played the EMERGENZA Semi-Finals at BBB on friday 06-19.
Nicki,
You have no idea of how powerful your music and performance was-it always is! You guys' music has a profound effect on me and in all the people you play for, I mean, did you see all the crowd dancing to your music and how, when they asked us if we wanted Dropjoy to go to the finals we cheered for like 1/2 an hour?!:)
It was an amazing show. I was feeling a bit down that night, but seeing you perform, giving it all you got, despite of all odds, simply inspired and reminded me that that's how it's supposed to be: when you feel you don't have the strength to fight for what you believe in, you realize that there is no other way but to keep fighting for it!
Sometimes i forget that life will always be filled with obstacles along the way, sometimes I forget my own strength;
that is why the universe has created musicians such as yourself, to remind us of our strength, to help us let all the stress out and come out triumphant!
Thank you for fully surrendering yourself to the audience every time you perform,thank you for those loving hugs of yours, thank you for the inspiration, thank you for dropping drops of joy in people's ears!

His name is Derick. He used to play for a band called "Somewhere Loud" and became friends with us while Andrew was still around. He really loves Dropjoy and we'll probably play with him when Rhythm is unavailable for a show.
By the way, we did not make it through to the 3rd round of the Emergenza battle of the bands. We lost to Red Llama Dog.
